A new walkway is today (January 23) being built in Radstock - after months and months of frustration and wall-jumping to link up two busy areas of the town.

Builders from Linden Homes are working today putting in the path which connects the road with the McColls shop on it and Fosseway Press.

Fosseway Press said they are thrilled with the work.

And said:"We are over the moon with the new pathway approval and hope that it will make shopping easier for the local community bringing what has felt for a long time the '2 sides' of the town together. Our hope is that all the empty retail units will be filled this coming year to attract more visitors and give the local community a better shopping experience."

As these photos show, the work began this morning, and is expected to be completed by the end of the day.

The house builder has come under intense local pressure for not completing access work across its sites in Radstock.

For details about local infrastructure plans and developments - Radstock Town Council has a new web site, with contact details for councillors and all the forthcoming meetings.

You can find it under the red button.
