Cold - but only in third place
Cold - but only in third place

It may have felt like it was cold beyond any Midsomer has felt before, but the overnight temperature drop, did not even come close to the coldest night so far in 2021.

In fact it wasn't even the second coldest night, according to the hyper-local and one hundred per cent accurate local weather man, Kilmersdon Weather.

According to him the coldest night thus far in 2021, was -6.7C on January 1 at 04:31 am, which is a good two degrees lower than last night.

Mr Kilmersdon added : " In fact it wasn't the second coldest night either beaten by -5.8C on the 25th January, so last night has to settle for third place."

He recorded an early morning temperature of -4.7 - cold yes but not record-breaking.

Meantime he is also forecasting some good news, in about a week or ten days we should be enjoying more spring like conditions, with temperatures like we could see in a typical April.

But he added : " A taste of spring feeds North on long fetch Southerly winds-dry too with sunny spells. A long way to go and just hints at this stage. "
