It was once called Cooper's Corner : Fascinating history of this Radstock address

By Susie Watkins 4th Dec 2021

An appeal to find out more about this Radstock address which is shortly up for auction has revealed a remarkable commercial history.

Not so much what this Bath New Road building has been in the past, more like what it HASN'T been.

One resident told us that it was known locally as Cooper's Corner when it was an electrical shop, then they moved the business to Bath. Apparently the former owner a Mrs Cooper still lives up Writhlington.

It was the agents told us, formally a wedding shop, and at least one person told us they bought their dress from the shop.

But it was also a chemists apparently, and a butchers.

One reader remembers it as an antiques shop. The property, - is being sold on December 16.

The auctioneers say the building, on the way to Coombe End has a guide price of £290,000.

More details on the on line auction HERE: it is currently laid out as a six bedroomed property
