A novel and hearty way to raise funds is being started by the fantastic local charity SWALLOW.

They will be offering a local lunch at St Peter's Church, in Westfield, with soup and bread for a modest price - but with a twist.

The special fundraiser will be on March 10 from noon until 13:30 and everyone is welcome.

The members of Swallow, a charity which started in 1993, will be making the soup and for just £5 it will be a bottomless bowl, so have as much as you want, along with a roll of bread. There will also be hot drinks and cakes available and a raffle.

SWALLOW is a local charity supporting teenagers and adults with learning disabilities. The name stands for South West Action for Learning & Living Our Way.

Based in Westfield, it provides supported housing, education and training and outreach in the community as well as a range of support towards employment and activities to reduce social isolation. It now helps over 140 teenagers and adults locally.

They also have a couple of events coming up in May:

2nd May – Cream tea and concert with the Mendip Male Voice Choir and their own choir at St Nicholas Church Radstock.

16th May – Zumbathon at Chilcompton Village Hall.

If you would like to know more contact, Nicky Tew, Fundraising and Finance Manager, on 01761 414 034 or by email on [email protected].
