An end of term party left the local litter pickers of Midsomer Norton fuming and urging parents to remind their children not to take the environment for granted.

This is the scene after a leaving party on May 28 on the Somervale School field behind the Midsomer Norton cricket ground. It is understood that it came from the end of school party involving pupils from both Somervale and Norton Hill.

The area has been cleared by one of the regular litter clearers who told Nub News : " It's absolutely shocking that children have reached the age they are without giving a damn about their environment or the harm this will do to wildlife."

Another posted : "Please parents teach and tell your children not to litter but to be responsible for their actions. Think of the wildlife if nothing else. "
