A small care home in Radstock has been rated inadequate across all key areas according a report from the latest official inspection.
The home on Bristol Road in Radstock was previously rated Good when it was last inspected in August 2018.
Now the latest report, after an inspection in July last year, has just been published (May1) and it contains a long list of problems. According to the CQC report: " We have identified breaches in relation to medicines, the environment, safeguarding, dignity and respect, infection control, person centred support, staffing, complaints, statutory notifications and governance at this inspection." The home has been judged to be not safe, not run effectively, not well-led,not responsive and not safe. Bedborough House is a residential care home and at the time was providing personal care to sixyoung adults, but can accommodate up to eight people with autism and other learning disabilities.
Two of those living there at the time told the CQC inspector that the staff were kind.
However in the report the CQC inspector identified many problems including that "peoples' risk assessments were not always followed by staff and records used to monitor peoples' health were not always completed. This exposed people to risks of neglect."
The CQC report concludes by saying " We have found evidence that the provider needs to make improvements."
The home is run by Provider:Parkcare Homes (No.2) Limited, which has been approached for a comment.
