Bunches of flowers with a little note saying thank you have been appearing on doorsteps, and outside the local shop, in Writhlington.

The thoughtful gesture has been cheering up the local community who have dubbed their special visitor, the flower fairy.

Lois Rowe said: " The bunches certainly cheered us up. It is a very nice thing to do."

Scores of bunches of flowers have been left with a short note saying simply 'thank you'.

They have been along many roads in Writhlington including along Manor Terrace and outside the shop, the Jones Convenience Stores.

That shop has today (March 27) announced that it will be shortening its hours to keep staff available at other sites.

It will be open from 9am until 6pm.

Jones Convenience Stores are from today (March 28) changing their opening hours to 9-6pm to keep customers and staff safe.
