The Radstock Hotel was this morning (April 27) closed to the public after the landlord posted an apology that the pub, even with outdoor tables, was being forced to close.

The central Radstock venue said that it was closing from tomorrow (April 28) but when Nub News visited at 11am there was no sign of any service.

The landlord posted on social media: " Due to our visit with the EHO, council, police, Licencing Officer on Friday, all services in the garden will cease as of Wednesday.

" I am really sorry to put this on our customers, due to short staffing issues we cannot operate two bars at the same time. I am not responsible for the government rules. Thank you very much for your custom over the last 12 months. We hope to supply you with the same great service again."

He added that the food service will resume on May 17.

The pub, formerly known as The Waldegrave Arms recently advertised for a new manager to start immediately.
