As we get into the swing of a new year, now is the perfect opportunity to both reflect and look forward in Radstock.

Since launching the Radstock Nub News website we have been building a hyper-local news source for Radstock community and surrounding villages.

Our team seeks out inspiring people and stories to bring you relevant, reliable and trustworthy local news.

And this quality journalism is enhanced by our ever-increasing family of Nubbers who contribute interesting and well-read news and what's on event listings. But we would like more people to come forward and send us their events.

If you want to share news or events about your organisation, charity, business, church, school or sports team we'd love to hear from you.

Radstock Nub News - which can be found at the website address https://radstock.nub.news - is an online newspaper solely for Radstock and the surrounding area. We are hyper-local so our articles are about what's important for the town.

We will not be publishing any generic Somerset-wide stories to encourage clicks. Unlike other platforms, we do not get any revenue "per click" so we do not need to resort to click-bait, annoying pop-up ads or surveys.

Our aim is for the user to access locally-relevant content in a pleasant viewing format. The site also offers Local News, What's On, Classifieds, Property, Jobs and Live Travel.

Soon, we will be offering obituaries and more as we grow. Nub News intends to fill the vacuum in local news created by the closure and consolidation of local newspapers.

We want to be at the heart of the Radstock community. We want to give a voice and an identity back to the village.

We want to promote local causes and businesses. We want to encourage people back on to the High Street.

Importantly, our business model relies on your input; be it News or What's On. Our "Nub It" button enables local people, a councillor, an MP, the chairman of the rugby or football club or a headteacher to write regular articles.

We also encourage businesses, theatres and restaurants to post events to our What's On page. Be it the local theatre company or a £10-steak-for-two night at the local restaurant, we want to promote it. All for free.

Radstock Nub News is the perfect platform for your organisation, charity, business, church, school, sports team - anyone in fact - to share your fantastic achievements with the community. We like good news stories.

While it is intrinsic to publish all types of news (even bad, at times), we can already see that good, local, community interest stories are hugely popular. All submitted content requires a legitimate name, email and telephone number and is moderated by me the editor, before going live.

If you would like more information please email Susie on [email protected].

Simply use the Nub It buttons found on the home page for news and what's on page for events listings. It's quick, easy and, of course, free.

All submitted content is moderated before going live by our experienced team of journalists - no fake news guaranteed.

And, don't forget, Radstock Nub News also features local live travel and weather information, classifieds, properties for sale and jobs.

You can find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/RadstockNubNews/ and follow us on Twitter at twitter.com/RadstockNubNews.

Thank you again!
