Specsavers headquarters have confirmed that they still plan to expand to Midsomer Norton, but work has been delayed on their new site by coronavirus.

The company is expected to move into the former library building on Midsomer Norton High Street.

Last month workmen were on site, clearing the building ready for the refit.

When work appeared to come to a halt Nub News contacted the company for comment.

They were unable to provide any on the record statement but were able to confirm that the plans to expand into Midsomer are still active; work has been delayed by coronavirus.

A spokesperson said they hoped to update Nub News in September.
