Two more schools have joined the Midsomer Norton collection of education sites under the Multi Academy Trusts.

The MAT now includes St Mary's Primary School in Timsbury and St Mark's Secondary School in Bath.

Both formerly joined on May 1.

Approved by the Secretary of State for Education, this conversion will allow the Schools tohave more control over their day to day operations within the support network offered by the MNSP MAT. The partnership now a total of 17 primary schools and seven secondary schools all located across BANES, Mendip and North Somerset local authorities.

Mark Cox, Headteacher of St Mary's, Timsbury commented "Joining the trust will enable our staff to work closely with the other schools to share and further develop good practice, which will benefit our pupils and the whole school community. The Midsomer Norton Schools' Partnership will also challenge us as we continue to work towards providing a high-class education for the children of St Mary's."

MAT CEO and Executive Headteacher Alun Williams said: " I really look forward to working with the staff and children at the schools, as do all those colleagues and children who are already part of the Midsomer Norton Schools' Partnership."
