The little-est footballers in Westfield were back training today Sunday June 21 - and while it was not quite normal, everyone was thrilled.
A group of fathers up at Westfield stood in the the car park - so not on the sidelines as normal - as they watched the team get their first football coaching since lockdown eased.
Everyone agreed it was a wonderful return for both the players, the families and if we had been allowed to visit the coaches on the pitch (which we were not) we are certain they would have been equally happy.
For father Adam Wyatt getting back onto the pitch for his son Jack was nothing short of turning a light back on.
He told Nub News: " It was massive today for him. He has really missed football he has really missed his friends. He has missed a lot of school so he needed to get out and have a kick around with his friends for an hour. That makes him so happy."
Postman Adam told us Jack had been playing football for four seasons, so before coronavirus lockdown it was a huge part of his life, with the whole family loving their sport.
He told us: " He seems brighter, he got up early, he got all his kit ready, he put his kit on, he got his gloves ready... he was so happy last night. He went to bed with no problems because he knew he would get up the next morning and have an hour's football. "
Jack's older brother and younger sister are both back at school so it has been extra difficult for him, but today he was beaming.
All parents had to sign disclaimers and agree to social distancing rules - but it seemed not much of a price to pay to see the joy as after weeks of inaction, the kids got to kick around a ball again.
Adam summed it up: "I am happy, his mum is happy and best of all, he is happy."
