He is known as the local's favourite weather man, and thousands of fans follow his sometimes hourly updates to make sure they are not caught out. Today( February 15) as Storm Dennis hits Radstock, he is more popular than ever.

Today he has spotted a rare phenomenon, although visitors often complain that it does nothing but rain in the UK, that is not often the case - except for today.

The Kilmersdon weather guru has put up a map showing that 80-90% of the UK is currently being soaked, which is something that rarely is actually the case.

Kilmersdon's weather man is hugely popular because he offers ultra local, ultra fast, by the hour weather predictions - and he is invariably right.

Martin Gibb, worked for 25 years at Radco, but now offers his ultra local, often hourly, weather forecasts from where he was born and now lives, Kilmersdon.

He explained: "From keeping primitive handwritten daily accounts of weather and using basic thermometers and barometers it was then as technology advanced I gradually began to compute my data with greater accuracy onto computer software. Since the internet has become such a powerful tool with providing me with at the finger tip access to satellite images of clouds and precipitation I began to think about how best I could turn back my knowledge of the weather in a way that the community in which I live could share."

Now on two sites, Martin offers hyper local weather reports and updates, lots of history about weather patterns and has over four thousand followers for Kilmersdon Weather on Facebook @Kilmersdonweather.
