Local Community radio station scores Wilde exclusive

By Susie Watkins 6th Sep 2021

Somer Valley FM, the local radio station for Radstock, exclusively interviewed Marty Wilde, ahead of his Komedia concert.

He began his career in 1957 – and was one of the first British singers to play a leading part in those early formative 'Rock'n'Roll' years.

Marty will be a special guest on THE BAYLY BRUNCH, 10am Thursday 9th September on Somer Valley FM, ahead of his gig with his Wild Cats at the Komedia, Bath on Sunday 12th Sept. (Box Office 01225 489070 www.komedia.co.uk)

Presenter Rob Bayly said: "I'm very honoured that Marty gave such a wonderful exclusive interview to Somer Valley FM. I spoke to him while he was at home in a very relaxed mood and he spoke candidly about his modest upbringing, his musical family and how he can't stop Rock and Rolling'.

Marty admitted 'sometimes I wish I could stop but I just keep waking up with a new song in my head'. Rob discovered how he didn't want to be called Marty or Wilde! 'I put my original 7" single of his big hit Teenager in Love on the turntable and Marty just joined in and sang along! Such a pleasant man and his voice is as good as it ever was."

This a a rare chance to hear and see live on stage one of the only performing Rock'n'Roll pioneers.
