Local planning news : The Shambles move a step closer to being completed and an update on Midsomer Norton Town Hall
In local planning news - the working at The Shambles in Radstock has moved to a new stage.
The developer is now seeking removal of certain conditions about the homes and shops on the Wells Road, which is officially in Westfield, 23/02153/COND
They have applied for the discharge of condition 11 (Contaminated Land - Verification Report (Pre-occupation)) of application 17/04186/FUL (Demolition of existing buildings with retention of existing east and south facades, and development of 10 no. Residential units and 1no. Commercial Unit within a flexible use including Uses within Class A1 (Shops), A2 (Financial and Professional Services), A3 (Restaurants and Cafes), B1 (Business) and D1 (Non-residential institutions)).
The Midsomer Norton Sports Centre, on Gullock Tyning also has an application in for removal of conditions on its work to replace the existing adventure play equipment with new pieces, create a foraging area and to put in picnic tables with associated hard and soft landscaping. The homeowners of Rosalie , on Westwood Avenue, High Littleton, have put in an application to build a first floor extension with roof alterations and rear dormers and a ground floor single storey rear and side extensions. Details under application 23/02124/FUL
While In Paulton, the Old Manse, on Winterfield Road, has put in a planning application to build first floor side extension, front porch and ground floor alterations. 23/02132/FUL

Tree pruning works for 46 Waterloo Road in Radstock have been agreed.
The homeowners of 21 Charlton Park, Midsomer Norton have been given the go-ahead to build an extension.
An updated application concerning the Town Hall in Midsomer Norton. The application 23/01530/CONDLB , discharge of condition 5 of application 21/00915/LBA (Proposed refurbishment and extension of existing town hall to re-instate ground floor market hall and improve access throughout. Resubmission of proposals previously approved on applications 15/01298/FUL & 18/01638/FUL), has been agreed.
Homeowners of 3 The Dymboro, in Midsomer have been allowed to cut back two Beech trees on the property.
And the owners of 21 Charlton Park in Midsomer Norton have been given the all clear to build a two storey side extension on their property.
Meantime, on Sunday there is a big meeting about plans to build 60 homes at Underhill Lane which is under the control of Somerset Council. Cllr Shaun Hughes is leading the campaign against the development details HERE . The meeting will be on June 18 at 5pm at Orchard Hall - everyone welcome.

He posted : " Unfortunately this is the only date the Hall is available at short notice so hopefully everyone can make it. (sorry I know it's Father's Day).
"Despite a huge amount of objections, numerous issues with the application and a judicial review instructing Mendip Council to remove this site from their local plan Curo still want to try and push this planning application through. Meeting to discuss the current status of the planning applications and any actions residents may wish to take to object. "
There is still time to object to these plans, a so-called 'border' application with B&NES consultation closing June 22 and Mendip's (as was) on June 29.
