The company which runs a care home in Radstock which was reported by the CQC as inadequate in all areas has said it has already made significant changes to improve things.

The home on Bristol Road in Radstock was previously rated Good when it was last inspected in August 2018 and the company which manages it says it hopes to get that rating back.

Following an inspection in July last year, the CQC report on May 1 put the care home as inadequate in five key areas.

According to the CQC report: " We have identified breaches in relation to medicines, the environment, safeguarding, dignity and respect, infection control, person centred support, staffing, complaints, statutory notifications and governance at this inspection."

The home has been judged to be not safe, not run effectively, not well-led,not responsive and not safe.

Bedborough House is a residential care home and at the time was providing personal care to six

young adults, but can accommodate up to eight people with autism and other learning disabilities.

A spokesman for the Priory Group which runs the home said today (May 5) : "We have changed the management team for the home and significant steps have already been taken to ensure there is much greater focus on a person-centred and inclusive service culture as required by the Registering the Right Support best practice and guidelines.

"We are also making considerable further investment in staff training and recruitment and improvements to the environment. We are entirely confident that with new leadership and investment, the home will return to its previous CQC rating of 'Good'."

In its latest CQC report the inspector identified many problems including that "peoples' risk assessments were not always followed by staff and records used to monitor peoples' health were not always completed. This exposed people to risks of neglect."
