Writhlington pupil to take on mammoth ride for firefighter and premature baby charity

By Susie Watkins 12th Aug 2021

Teenager Gil is doing a charity bike ride, alongside his firefighter dad, from Lands End to Frome on 27-28th August.

The fourteen year old will be raising funds for Bliss and the firefighters charity and is expecting to ride about 120 miles a day.

Gil Endicott chose the charities because he himself is a triplet, born at 28 weeks and Bliss supports premature and sick babies, and their families.

The Writhlington School pupil, who will start Mendip Studio School in September, is hoping to raise £1000 with his total currently just shy of that target.

Gil plays rugby for Frome, is a young leader at 10th Frome Scouts and a member of Midsomer Norton judo club, while also part of the Combined Cadet Force at Writhlington.

He said: " Thank you everyone who is supporting me and has donated, I am really chuffed with the support."
