MIDSOMER NORTON BRIEFING: Monday March 23

Midsomer Norton Sainsbury's will be going further with new announcements today (Sunday March 22) to keep NHS workers and older people apart.

Yesterday the company announced a three times a week shop opening for the elderly. Now it has announced that it will prioritise health workers for half an hour before normal shop opening times.

The pharmacy in Westfield asked customers to wait outside today (Saturday March 21) and announced that it would close for two hours between 12 and 2 to keep up with the increased work during the coronavirus pandemic.

The pharmacy, along with many other chemists put posters up to tell customers they were out of many of the most in-demand items, including thermometers,toilet roll and surgical masks.

The Somer Valley Campus in Radstock is formally closed for face to face teaching.

The announcement was made by Bath College, which runs the campus, to close all their sites until further notice.

Good morning Midsomer Norton we have amended our Breakfast Briefing, so still bringing you all the valuable key details we know that readers want, such as daylight hours, the weather and shop opening times, but we are now adding in other news, such as pharmacy opening times and offers of help to residents.

The local Radstock pharmacy has informed Nub News that it will close today for one hour because of demand for prescriptions.

It will be closed from 1-2pm today (Friday March 20) to make up those prescriptions and to keep their work on track.
